Festival Cinéma Jeune Public

The Young Audiences Film Festival has been held since 2015, during the last week of November, at several independent theaters in Lausanne and Pully. The Festival features films, a film concert, workshops, and meet-and-greets for children, teens, families, and schools in the region.

The festival features films for audiences aged 3 to 20 and older. The artistic programming committee selects the films in collaboration with a youth programming committee. All screenings are introduced by a facilitator to provide context for the films. Workshops, meet-and-greets, discussions, and exploration activities accompany every film screening to make the program accessible to as many people as possible.

A jury of professionals awards the Best Feature Film Prize. A group of residents from the Lausanne region, representing all walks of life and all ages, who bring a fresh perspective that reflects the audience, awards the Citizens’ Jury Prize. The short film juries are made up of children aged 8 to 11 and teenagers aged 12 to 15. Audience members ages 4 and up present the Audience Award. Three Emerging Filmmaker Awards are also presented to young filmmakers under the age of 25 who reside in Switzerland and are screening their short films.
